Sansad Sports Festival 2025 Maharashtra MP Ravindra Waikar Inspires Youth to Embrace Sports
In every corner of India, sports have always been more than just games—they are a way to unite people, celebrate tradition, and nurture talent. Taking this spirit forward, Maharashtra MP Ravindra Dattaram Waikar has launched the Sansad Sports Festival 2025, an inspiring initiative that aims to strengthen youth participation in sports and create future champions.
The festival will begin on September 21, 2025, and continue until December 25, 2025, across multiple parts of the Mumbai North West constituency. What makes this initiative unique is that it will not only focus on popular sports like cricket and football but will also shine a spotlight on traditional Indian games that have been part of our culture for generations.
A Celebration of Sports and Tradition
The Sansad Sports Festival is designed to be inclusive and diverse, giving equal importance to both modern and traditional sports. Competitions will be held in kho-kho, kabaddi, football, cricket, running, swimming, yoga, and indoor games such as carrom. By blending the old with the new, the festival promises to encourage young athletes to explore different disciplines, rediscover traditional games, and at the same time embrace sports that are globally recognized.
To make participation easier, the organizers will soon launch online registrations along with a dedicated website. This digital platform will share all necessary information about the venues, schedules, and rules of the competitions, ensuring that no interested participant is left behind.
Community Support and Strong Planning
The festival has already received enthusiastic support from local representatives and officials. A joint planning meeting was held at the BMC’s K-East ward office, where MP Waikar was joined by MLA Murji Patel, corporators Rajul Patel, Pratima Khopde, Atmaram Chache, Kamlesh Rai, Sadanand Parab, and several ward officials. The meeting also included representatives from the Sports Authority of India, education officers, and local police stations, ensuring that every aspect of organization and safety is well-covered.
This collaboration between political leaders, government authorities, and community members reflects the festival’s larger goal—building a healthy, united, and active society through sports.
Building Health, Fitness, and Dreams
Highlighting the vision behind the festival, MP Waikar shared that the event is not just about competition, but also about inspiring young people to adopt healthier lifestyles. By aligning the Sansad Sports Festival with the Fit India Movement, the initiative hopes to encourage physical fitness, discipline, and teamwork among participants.
Beyond fitness, the festival will also act as a stepping stone for young athletes who dream of making it big in sports. By offering them a structured platform to showcase their skills, MP Waikar hopes that many of these emerging players will eventually represent India at national and international competitions.
Creating Sporting Leaders of Tomorrow
The Sansad Sports Festival 2025 is more than just a sporting event—it is a movement to shape the future of Indian sports. For many youngsters, this will be their first chance to compete, learn, and grow under proper guidance. With the right exposure and encouragement, these athletes could one day become the sporting leaders who carry India’s flag proudly on the global stage.
As MP Waikar rightly said, “Through this festival, every young player in the constituency will get the opportunity to prove their sporting skills. I believe that many of them will go on to become the country’s future sporting leaders.”
The excitement is building, and as the festival kicks off, it will not only celebrate athletic excellence but also the spirit of community, health, and youth empowerment.
