Hero Moto Corp Tops Leads the Charge as India’s Two-Wheeler Market Hits Record High in September 2025

The roar of engines echoed across India in September 2025, marking a milestone month for the nation’s two-wheeler industry. As the festive season kicked off, showrooms buzzed with excitement, buyers rushed to grab new deals, and manufacturers celebrated soaring sales. Affordable prices driven by GST-led cuts and an overall positive market sentiment pushed the industry to new heights — with Hero MotoCorp once again standing tall as the country’s top performer.

Hero MotoCorp: Riding Ahead with Record Success

Hero MotoCorp continued to dominate India’s two-wheeler landscape with an impressive 6,87,220 units sold in September 2025, reflecting an 8 percent growth compared to the same period last year. The company’s success story didn’t stop there — it proudly became the first two-wheeler manufacturer in India to cross 125 million units in cumulative production, a remarkable feat in the world of motorcycles and scooters.

Festive season enthusiasm played a huge role in this success. Hero showrooms across the country saw a massive surge in footfall, with visitor numbers more than doubling compared to the previous year. On the global front, Hero MotoCorp also made waves by achieving its highest-ever quarterly export figure of 1,11,584 units. In September alone, exports touched 39,638 units — an astonishing 94.8 percent rise over the previous year. This strong domestic and international performance reaffirmed Hero’s leadership and its growing global presence.

Honda Maintains Its Stronghold

Right behind Hero, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India continued its consistent streak by selling 5,68,164 units in September 2025. Of this, 5,05,693 units were sold in the domestic market, while 62,471 units were exported. Compared to the previous month, Honda’s performance showed a healthy 6 percent growth, signaling steady demand and customer trust.

From April to September 2025, Honda’s cumulative sales reached nearly 3 million units, solidifying its position as one of India’s most reliable two-wheeler brands. Its consistent momentum reflects both the brand’s widespread appeal and its ability to adapt to changing consumer preferences.

TVS Motors: The Electric Revolution Continues

TVS Motor Company also had a reason to celebrate, recording sales of 5,23,923 units — up 11 percent from last year’s 4,71,792. The brand’s success was driven by strong domestic demand, with 4,13,279 units sold locally, marking a 12 percent rise.

But what truly set TVS apart this year was its growing strength in the electric vehicle segment. Its popular e-scooters, the iQube and the new Orbiter, have captured the imagination of India’s eco-conscious riders. Together, these models accounted for 31,266 units in September — an 8 percent increase from last year. This consistent growth has helped TVS maintain its leadership in the electric two-wheeler segment for six consecutive months, showcasing the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility.

Bajaj Auto: Balanced Growth at Home and Abroad

Bajaj Auto also had a strong month, selling 4,30,853 units — an 8 percent increase compared to the previous year. The company maintained balance across its markets, achieving growth in both domestic and export sales. In India, Bajaj sold 2,73,188 units (up 5 percent), while exports rose to 1,57,665 units (up 12 percent). This mix of performance shows Bajaj’s continued dominance not only within the country but also across international markets.

Royal Enfield and Suzuki: Record-Breaking Performances

September 2025 will also be remembered as a record month for Royal Enfield and Suzuki Motorcycle India. Royal Enfield, known for its classic appeal and powerful motorcycles, achieved its best-ever monthly sales — selling 1,24,328 units, a 43 percent jump compared to last year. With 1,13,573 units sold domestically and 10,755 exported, the brand’s growing popularity in the mid-capacity motorcycle segment is clearer than ever. Riders across India embraced Royal Enfield’s latest lineup, reaffirming the brand’s emotional connection with the Indian motorcycling spirit.

Meanwhile, Suzuki Motorcycle India also touched new heights with its best-ever monthly sales of 1,23,550 units — a 25 percent rise over the previous year. Domestic sales surged by 37 percent to 1,05,886 units, while exports slightly declined. Still, this record-breaking performance cemented Suzuki’s growing importance in India’s two-wheeler story.

The Road Ahead for India’s Two-Wheeler Industry

September 2025 marked more than just a strong sales month — it symbolized a revival of consumer confidence, technological progress, and affordability in India’s two-wheeler market. With festive enthusiasm, improved economic sentiment, and the rapid adoption of electric vehicles, the industry stands on the brink of even greater transformation.

Brands like Hero MotoCorp, Honda, TVS, Bajaj, Royal Enfield, and Suzuki are not just selling motorcycles — they’re shaping the way India moves, dreams, and connects.
