Gujarat’s Festive Season Roars with Record Gujarat Festive Auto Sales Hit ₹3300 Cr
Festivals in India are more than just celebrations—they are moments when families come together, emotions find expression, and new beginnings take shape. This year, Gujarat experienced a wave of joy on the roads as Navratri and Dussehra brought an unprecedented boom in automobile sales. From buzzing showrooms to delivery ceremonies filled with excitement, the state witnessed vehicles worth nearly ₹3,300 crore changing hands in just ten days.
A Celebration on Wheels
The festive season has always been a preferred time for buying new vehicles, but this year’s numbers were exceptional. According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), more than 1.05 to 1.10 lakh two-wheelers and 22,000 to 24,000 cars were booked and delivered across Gujarat during Navratri and Dussehra. On Dussehra day alone, over 44,000 two-wheelers and 10,000 cars were handed over to proud owners.
The joy was palpable as families marked the festival with the purchase of shiny scooters, powerful bikes, and dream cars. SUVs, in particular, became the star of the season, dominating booking lists and reflecting the rising preference for spacious and stylish vehicles.
GST 2.0 Gives Buyers More Reason to Celebrate
One of the biggest reasons behind this surge was the implementation of the revised GST 2.0 rates from September 22. The revised tax structure brought much-needed relief to buyers by slashing prices significantly. Two-wheelers became cheaper by up to ₹10,000, while car buyers enjoyed price cuts nearing ₹1 lakh. This cost reduction not only encouraged more bookings but also boosted confidence in the market, leading to record-breaking sales figures.
Ahmedabad Leads the Festive Drive
Among Gujarat’s districts, Ahmedabad stood out as a key contributor. On Dussehra alone, the city witnessed deliveries of around 6,000 two-wheelers and 2,400 cars. Over the festive window, the numbers grew even stronger with nearly 14,000 to 15,000 two-wheelers and 5,500 to 6,000 cars being booked. The sight of packed showrooms, delivery ceremonies with flower garlands, and streets filled with new rides gave Ahmedabad a festive glow like no other.
A Significant Jump from Last Year
Compared to the previous year, Gujarat recorded a sharp 15% rise in festive season automobile sales. This impressive leap not only reflects the impact of tax reforms but also showcases the growing aspirations of consumers. With the state contributing such large volumes, Gujarat has once again proved its importance as a thriving hub for the automobile sector.
Breaking down the numbers further, two-wheeler sales accounted for nearly ₹1,000 crore, while car sales contributed close to ₹2,300 crore of the total. The figures highlight both the strength of everyday mobility demand and the increasing preference for four-wheelers, especially SUVs.
Driving Towards a Brighter Future
The festival season in Gujarat has shown that the automobile industry is not just about vehicles—it’s about emotions, aspirations, and milestones in people’s lives. Every two-wheeler and car delivered during these ten days carried a story of hard work, dreams, and celebrations. With policy support, tax reforms, and a growing appetite for mobility, the road ahead looks brighter for both consumers and the industry.
This year’s Navratri and Dussehra were more than just cultural celebrations—they became a milestone for Gujarat’s automobile market, marking the perfect blend of tradition and progress.
